Aaron Shust - modern Christian Artist - vocation Profile

Aaron Shust is a modern Christian Music singer and songwriter whose music resounds with a powerful sense of meaning to life, offering hope in the knowledge that we are part of an infinitely bigger whole within the body of Christ and that through His resurrection we are offered redemption. Christ's emphatic triumph resounds powerfully and majestically throughout Shust's music.

Shust spent his formative years near Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania and began playing the piano at an early age, mastering the guitar during his immature years, then heavily influenced by the music of the times.

Shust's early musical expression found an outlet when he started to pour out his feelings about leaving home for the first time to study music at Toccoa Falls College, Georgia where he was heavily influenced by European classical forms and also by more modern artists of the sixties. The young artist's early musical occupation began in the campus halls of Toccoa Falls College where he entertained fellow students. At this point he also began to give live performances in churches and venues.

A churchgoer all his life, Shust is a worship leader at Perimeter Church in Atlanta. Exterior his church, this devout Christian songwriter travels extensively throughout the United States, visiting and leading worship in numerous Christian venues and churches, imparting a sense of hope and love in his music.

Shust recorded his favorite album, whatever Worth Saying in 2004, produced by Dan Hannon. Hannon also produced a host of other songs for Schust which he later presented to Mike McQuary's Atlanta based Brash Music label. On hearing Schust's songs for the first time, the article label fast signed the promising young songwriter, even though they had no old sense promoting Christian music.

Schust's most flourishing singular to date was his second singular release, "My Savior My God", which was released in January 2006 and went on to perform countless milestones along with over seven months in the Top 5 on the R&R Christian Ac chart; whole 1 in the iTunes Christian and Gospel chart for over 12 weeks and second most played song of 2006 on Christian Chr radio. In recognition of his impact on the modern Christian music scene, Shust was named songwriter of the year at the thirty-eighth each year Gma Dove Awards in 2007 and gained further recognition by having his song "My Savior My God" proclaimed song of the year for 2007. The Gma also awarded Shust two further Dove Awards, naming him New Artist of the Year and Songwriter of the Year.

Aaron Schust lives with his wife Sarah in Duluth, Georgia and the join are blessed with two boys, Daniel and Nicholas.
